Outfit Changes at Disney Parks

About a month ago, we took a trip to Disneyland resort in Anaheim, California. This was the first time we experienced the Halloween season on the east coast and it was phenomenal! Along with trying all the Halloween offerings for the first time, I also decide to do a little experiment with outfit changes.

That’s right! Me being extra, I wanted to maximize the number of Disneybounds that I could wear to the parks! Since we only had 4 Disney days and one of them was dedicated to the Halloween Party, the most logical way to achieve this in my mind was to bring two outfits for each day. I was a bit indecisiveness when trying to pack for this trip. I wanted to wear seasonal Halloween garb, but also wanted to sport some of the new Minnie Mouse ears I’d recently purchased from small shops.

Now for those of you that have not been to Disneyland, it is extremely easy to access if you are staying at one of the hotels on the strip, and both parks and Downtown Disney are accessible to one another through walking. Our hotel was only about a little over a mile up the street, so we walked to the parks every day, which made outfit changes pretty easy at no real extra cost. This is not the case for Walt Disney World, but because of the ease of access at Disneyland, we opted to take breaks during the day, and walk back to our hotel for rest.

The outfit switcheroo was simple because I just changed when arriving back at the hotel. No lugging around extra clothes needed. Exhausted feet at the end of the day was all it cost, and really they would have been exhausted even without the extra walk to the resort and back!!

Was it worth it?

My verdict is, absolutely! I loved doing this and I think I may try my hand at changing outfits during my upcoming trip to Disney World. If photoshoots are a part of your park agenda, then outfit changes are perfect for you! They also give you variety to post on the gram. 😏

Now at Disney world, I realize this may be a little harder to accomplish. For our next trip, we are staying at a resort off property, so more than likely no break will be taken during the day. Even if we were staying on property, this still would be harder to pull off. Guests at the Contemporary can walk to Magic Kingdom, and guest at Yacht & Beach, Boardwalk, or Swan & dolphin can access Epcot, but for anyone else, your timing will be at the mercy of Disney transport. YIKES!! Who wants to spend a possible extra hour of travel time just to change an outfit? Not I.

For this outfit change magic at WDW, I will have to take my second outfit with me to the parks and purchase a locker for the day. Lockers can be purchased for $10 a day, which isn’t terrible at all, especially if you are sharing costs. If I decide to do this during my next trip, I’ll be writing about whether or not it was worth it.

What are your thoughts on outfit changes at Disney?
