Fall Dapper Day is Upon Us

Fall Dapper Day 2019 is almost upon us, and I can barely contain my excitement. By now, I consider myself a Dapper Day pro. I’ve been a participant since 2014, and I can say with confidence that whether in spring or fall, Dapper Day is one of my absolute favorite event weekends at Walt Disney World. Something about it just feels different! Now that I’ve connected with so many others from the Disney fan community, the experience has enhanced for me. If you are taking your first stab at dapper day weekend, here is a little advice I have for you!

Don’t worry about trying to Disneybound or dress for a time period. Many Dapper Day participants will dress vintage, however by no means should you feel pressured to dress this way. Dapper Day is where you should wear your version of Sunday best. We are all here to have fun, so be YOU, but feel free to step out of the box if you are comfortable!

If you do decide to Disney bound, this is your opportunity to be extremely theatrical! One of my favorite things about Dapper Day weekend is that I have an excuse to fuse Disney bounding and casual cosplay together. Short of Halloween, I feel as if this is the only acceptable time of year for me to go all out!

If you are into thee theatrics that is wonderful, however I would highly recommend wearing a pair of comfortable shoes or at least pack a pair to change into. Walking through the park in uncomfortable shoes can be brutal and unless you want to end up with sausage feet, proceed with caution.

Now, that you have stepped out into your amazing dapper day fit, it’s time to mingle! In this last year, mixing and mingling has become my absolute favorite part of Dapper Day weekend. There are always meetups scheduled by the official Dapper Day page and other IG influencers/Disney fans. The outfits are always a spectacle and conversation piece, and with so many people who share your love of Disney, you are bound to find a friend!

People tend to congregate outdoors for the meetups because so many people will be in attendance. Watch the weather and dress accordingly. Most people assume that Orlando is always hot. Though that may be true majority of the time, it does sometimes get downright cold. Fall dapper day is always held in November. You can expect there to be hot days in November, but last year during the week of my Dapper Day trip, there were days when I wore sweaters and tights. Keep this in mind. Also be mindful of potential for spontaneous rain, which is an Orlando must regardless the time of year.

Lastly, if you are doing hair and makeup, but sure to reinforce it with setting powder, setting spray, hair spray, bobby pins, etc. There is potential for it to melt off or get washed away.

I believe if you keep these tips in mind, it will be the foundation for a smooth Dapper Day weekend, so go out and enjoy!

I hope to see you there! <3
